1. American Standard Cambridge Apron-Front Soaking Bathtub — Best Selling
Cambridge Apron-Front Soaking Tub is a lightweight, affordable, and durable bathtub from American Standard. It uses the Americast technology that includes an insulating layer to keep warm bathwater longer, a glossy enamel topmost layer that’s easy to clean, and a steel center for durability.
I relish the ultimate soaking experience after a day’s hard work. This conventional tub has a slip-resistant floor surface, contoured support for the back, and a sloping headrest.
- 14-inch depth
- Excellent heat retention
- StanSure slip-resistant tub floor surface
- Glossy, non-porous, durable porcelain enamel finish
- Durable Americast material
- Apron front and tile flange
What I Like
I like the comfort that this tub offers. Its length of 54 inches gives me plenty of room for stretching, while it’s 26-degree angled back allows me to have a pleasant reclining position.
Although their other models offer more depth, this model has enough depth for a luxurious soaking experience. I also like that it’s sturdy, so it adds to my peace of mind that it won’t easily break during use.
What I Don’t Like
The non-skid surface can have a slightly beige color after some use, although it doesn’t look dirty. The outline of the diamond pattern becomes noticeable because of this.
It may be an issue for someone who wants a pristine tub. It requires cleaning after use to prevent molds and mildews growth.
- Easy installation
- Wider space
- Easy to clean
- Vulnerable to molds and mildews growth
The Cambridge Front-Apron Tub is a bestselling soaking bathtub, according to Americast Tub Reviews. It’s available in left-hand and right-hand drain models. It has a luxurious look and feel, yet is affordable. It’s the most reviewed American Standard tub on Amazon.
Overall Rating: 4.4
2. American Standard New Salem Soaking Bathtub – Budget-friendly
The New Salem Soaking Tub is for people who want the enamel look in their bathroom because it’s durable and attractive. Like the other American Standard bathtub, it has an integral apron and a slip-resistant surface.
- Integral apron
- Slip-resistant surface
- Fully bonded support pad
- Acid-resistant enameled steel
- End drain outlet

What I Like
I especially like its patented overflow system. The Deep Soak™ Drain is an innovation that removes the wasted space on top of the traditional overflow cap to provide a more luxurious, more profound, soaking experience. The drain fits many bathtubs and raises the water level by at least two inches.
What I Don’t Like
My issue isn’t a serious one, but I feel it is something that other people won’t like too. The tub isn’t bright or pristine white, but an off-white one.
- One-year warranty
- Easy to install
- Luxurious soaking tub
- Off-white color
The American Standard New Salem Soaking Bathtub is one of the most affordable, yet high-quality tubs. It’s for people, like you and me, who long for a luxurious and relaxing soak experience after a full day’s work but seek something that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. A basic soaker fits its purpose.

The Cadet Freestanding Bathtub is another top-ranked product in many Americast Tub Reviews and provides an excellent soaking experience after a full-day of work.

The two-piece tub has rough edges that can harm someone during installation, but an easy fix is to sand them mildly.
- Sleek design
- Deep and luxurious soak experience
- Practical and functional
- Wobbly tub filler
- Difficult to install
This American Standard freestanding tub is for everyone who needs some serious soaking. An extra-deep soaker that’s stylish and sleek too.
